You may remember me saying that a few days ago I had brought 2 Marco bears when they were released. The reason I had brought 2 is because ever since I saw the bear previewed I just knew that I had to paint one the official, genuine colours.
Now it would seem that ‘Bad Taste Bears’ have covered their backs with Marco and to presumably avoid copyright issues opted to paint Marco’s hat blue rather than red and overalls red rather than blue. It’s just all backwards, but that’s where my paints come in handy, hehe. Perhaps Marco got dressed whilst stoned? ;)
I spent a while mixing my red and blue paint so that the colours would match the colours of the original bear. I then set about giving Marco a mini makeover. I was tempted to change the ‘B’ on his hat and replace it with an ‘M’ but decided not to alter the original design too much.

Once the paints had dried I decided the turtle shell would look better with a shine. I varnished the shell using ‘Eberhard Faber’ varnish and if you compare the two shells I think you will agree that it worked well. I have been using products by ‘Eberhard Faber’ more and more in my mod work and find their products to work very well. (The company’s most well known product is a polymer clay called Fimo).
The satisfying thing about repainting a bear is you can spend your time on it and sometimes you will get so engrossed in the bear that you notice little mistakes in the

Anyway, there we have it Marco and Mario! :)
Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!
