So at the weekend I picked up a signed Johnny as you all know, and it was both signed and personalised. The bear read, ‘To Kris’ and obviously that’s great, … if your name is Kris. Well my name is not Kris so I thought that the bear would be more valuable to me if I removed the personalisation.
Now from trying to create my own metallic bears I knew that diluted white spirit would remove very light washes or ink and not damage the paint on a bear. Now Johnny’s condom has a thick coat and also has a shine to the paint so I knew that the painted surface would be rather durable. With this in mind I strolled to my garage and dug out the white spirit. (Not the ghost variety).
I use a budget white spirit and I find it is rather weak which in this case is ideal, as stripping anything other than the permanent ink would spoil the bear.
I applied the white

From the top photo the eagle-eyed amongst you will also notice that Johnny had a little chip to one of his feet. After a little touch-up the bear looks very healthy and now looks fab amongst my other bears! :)
Yesterday I also found the missing phone number I had misplaced and so as a result now have 2 extra cabinets added to my collection! (I have already filled one!) This morning I also received my new Collectors editi
